Story Lab

Coming to Chappaqua! January 3rd

12 sessions at hip-kid

Tuesdays 2:15-3:15

For children ages 3-6 and their caregivers

Storybooks come to life with hands-on art and science projects based on our favorite tales. The emphasis of this workshop is to promote literacy by exposing early learners to creative and interactive language arts experiences. Children will discover new ways to use key vocabulary and new skills while engaging with peers.

STEM Superheroes!

Tuesdays 4:00-5:30 at hip-kid

January 17th-March 19th for 2nd-4th grade

Wednesdays 4:00-5:30 at the DAE

January 30th-March 20th for 3rd-5th grade

You won’t be tinkering in Tony Stark’s workshop to help save the world, you will learn about the historic inventors and innovators who used science, engineering and math to solve real world problems to become real-life STEM SUPERHEROES! During each lesson, we will go back in time and discover an innovator from history such as Alan Turing, Ada Lovelace, The Montgolfier Brothers, Frank Lloyd Wright, Sir Isaac Newton, Jacques Cousteau, Galileo and many more. Through the concepts learned from historic figures and the impact they made, we will face challenges with of our friendly neighborhood heroes and help them save the world with STEM!

NASA Space Exploration

8 Saturdays for ages 13-17 in Scarsdale at The Digital Arts Experience (This is a collaborative program with The DAE, so please go to their site to register)

January 22nd-March 19th for 1st-2nd grade

Discover the world around us while becoming junior inventors, engineers and scientists. Learn new skills, STEM vocabulary and concepts while participating in fun hands-on experiments and engineering design challenges. Great introduction to STEM, encouraging kids to fail and try again in a safe environment.
